ABOUT US

VOTED was prompted by a passion towards engineered construction in clothing.

Fueled by our founder’s architectural background, VOTED takes a highly technical approach to the design & knitting process. With a strong emphasis on performance and comfort, our socks are made through stages of mindful and lengthy considerations.

Every decision made in choosing the weaving of threads, material composition, patterns, and strategic placements of padding & compressions are always made with the utmostsense of urgency. This mode of thinking has allowed us to create products that achievea correct balance between aesthetics and function.

All the knowledge we have gained is inscribed in the very making of our socks. The thingswe know, we learned through being active participants in our community; by listening andengaging in dialogues, taking care of our people, and moving towards a collective improvement.

This is the very reason we chose ant as our monogram. Ants are symbols of cooperation,strategy, hard work, resourcefulness, and balance. To us, it represents resilience andpersistence, as well as an organized, strong, and enduring community.

Fundamentally, VOTED was formed as a channel for change. To challenge the benchmark atwhich we judge what socks should feel and look, as well as the lasting cultural, societal,and environmental impact they could bring about in the world.

VOTED derives its name from the idea of democratic choice and recognition. Each sock’s design is curated and presentedto the market s if it were up or a vote, emphasizing ourcommitment to offering sophisticated and high-quality productsthat resonate with its customers.

The expanded form of the name is a glimpse into the historyof VOTED as well as the persisting spirit of the brand. VOTEDwas formed through a prolonged dedication towards learningthe art and craftmanship of making socks.

The research began in 2020 and lasted two years before the brand launched in 2022. This pursuit to expand our knowledge andcapabilities was and continues to be taken voluntarily, with a goalof finding paths hitherto unexplored.

On top of it, VOTED is also an acronym, which stands for:

The VOTED Conscious Research Unit was born out of this ambition. The products that bear the mark of this Unit were the results of extensive research and development, the processes which spanned between two months to one year.

The Unit itself has now grown into PATHAVERSE, our R&D division that focuseson exploring different ways of constructing our articles to tailor them according to their specific use; through testing various knitting techniques, playing with compositions, and experimenting with using different materials such as Tencel, recycled PE, and Merino Wool.

In order to match the benchmark of global standards, we have built a team consisting of anengineer, a biotechnologist, a fashion graduate, an architect, and a chemist based in Pathaverse’s own lab in Jakarta. Additionally, we have also partnered up with a lab in Hong Kong to further perform extensive textile testing.

This team of specialized individuals regularly conduct rigorous tests to determine the optimal material composition for each pair of socks as well as to avoid any incorporation of potentially allergenic materials. As a socks brand, we continue to move beyond what is expected

ENVIRONMENTAL

In the span of less than 300 years since the Industrial Revolution, humans have become a geological force, melting glaciers thousands of miles away, depriving animals of their habitats, and unintentionally creating islands oftrash spanning hundreds of thousands of square miles.

This far-reaching impact has been largely driven by our consumption habits,which often prioritize immediate gratification over long-term consequences. The transient and fleeting nature of fashion exemplifies this mentality, diverting attention away from our lasting environmental footprint.

WE REALISE OUR PART IN THE LONG CONTINUUM. VOTED IS IN THE SPECTRUM OF SUSTAINABLE CRAFT.

We believe that if we operate according to the industry’s current conventional wisdom, we will all fall short on safe guarding the world for generations to come. VOTED is dedicated to creating high-quality products that make positive impactson the environment. We recognize that there can never be a 100% sustainable fashion brand, but we are trying all our best to stay true to our brand values.

Our strict 0% polyester policy, responsible sourcing of raw materials, and our effortto participate in a circular economy are some of the steps we have continually taken in order to ensure our part in upholding environmental stewardship.
